Rules and Regulations
1. NO DOGS ALLOWED ON THE
GROUNDS.
2. Admission fees for adults are $10 on Saturday
and $8 on Sunday, and $5 for ages 6 to 12. Boundary 4H members and
children under 6 are free.
3. Overnight camping fee is $17 per vehicle per
night, payable to the camping manager.
4. Entries will be accepted Thursday from 3 –
7 pm and Friday from 12 – 7 pm. All livestock forms must be
filed in the office by 7 pm Friday but will be accepted at the pens
until 8 pm Friday.
5. Agriculture and Pavilion exhibits will be
judged Friday at 7 pm. This judging is closed to the public.
6. Early entries are encouraged; please call
446-2465 and leave a message as to how many tags and exhibitors
numbers you will need, along with your name and address, and they
will be mailed to you. Please PRINT your name on each tag
exactly the same as on the entry form.
7. Each exhibitor may only enter one exhibit
per class with the exception of cattle, swine, open sheep and goat
classes. No live insects may be entered.
8. If you wish to enter an exhibit you have not
made, the maker’s name must be put on the entry form and tag,
in care of you.
9. There are NO ENTRY FEES for
any exhibits, however, the livestock and horse events may require
a fee. Check with the events section for more information.
10. Home Cooking and Home Canning will be sampled.
Please, no colored lids or other distinguishing marks. Lids and
rings must be intact.
11. If you wish to donate an exhibit to the Fair
Public Auction on Sunday, please ask the building clerks to affix
a sticker to your entry tag.
12. The decision of the judges shall be final.
There will be NO TIED PLACINGS. If an entry is disqualified for
any reason, it will be noted by the clerk on the back of the tag.
13. Only one prize exhibit in any one class is
given credit toward the Grand Aggregate Trophy donated by the Rock
Creek Fair Association in memory of Bruce Cuthbertson, or the Reserve
Grand Aggregate Trophy donated by the Bridesville Women’s
Institute in memory of Margaret Webster. Special prizes will be
given to these winners.
14. The winner of a perpetual trophy is requested
to have it engraved with his or her name and year. The Fair will
pay for the engraving if they receive the receipt BEFORE October
31. Send the receipt to Box 83, Rock Creek, BC. V0H 1Y0.
15. Exhibits MUST NOT be removed from the grounds
and buildings until 4:30 pm Sunday.
16. Exhibitors should claim prize money at the
Fair office between 4:00 and 6:00 pm Sunday. Prize money exceeding
$5 will be mailed if not picked up.
17. Night watchmen will be on duty starting Thursday
and while every precaution will be taken to avoid accidents or damage,
the Fair will not accept responsibility in the event of loss or
damage to any exhibit or injury to any contestants or spectators.
18. Request for Display and Sales space can be
made by calling 250-446-2465 and our convener will send the information
to you.
19. A vendor will provide hay for sale or you
are welcome to bring your own hay.
While every precaution will be taken to avoid accidents or damage,
the Fair will not accept responsibility in the event of loss or
damage to any exhibit or injury to any contestants or spectators.
Please note: The number of scams and fraudulent
businesses/raffle boxes/ raffle tickets/raffle booths is exponentially
increasing at an alarming rate.
The Rock Creek & Boundary Fair Association is carefully screening
any new vendors that could be perceived as fraudulent. We are not
responsible for any undesirable activities that make it into our
system. Therefore, we ask that EVERYONE PLEASE use sense & sensibility
when divulging your name, telephone number and all other personal
information.
